Gov. Jon Corzine appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe this morning and talked up Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) for the job of secretary of state in an Obama administration.
"First of all she probably knows every major foreign leader," Corzine said. "She already has relationships where she can sit and talk directly about the problems that exist either on a bilateral or multilateral basis. She has a full grasp of the issues. She has studied it, and been as effective as any senator about articulating a point of view.
"She will bring instant credibility to those efforts," Corzine added. "She is smart. She works as hard as anybody ever has that I have ever been around. So, I think she could be a great partner with Barack Obama."
Corzine was a strong supporter of Clinton's in the Democratic Primary.
The Clinton talk came on the heels of the governor’s answer to a Joe Scarborough question about whether Corzine wants to be Obama’s secretary of the treasury. Corzine said he’s focused on New Jersey. “We have in each of the states across this country and particularly here on the east coast, a very serious economic crisis that is practical, on the ground, in peoples’ lives,” he said. “It is a responsibility of a governor to put together every effort to try to deal with the housing problem, to deal with jobs, to try to bridge the problem that my community is suffering with now. So I’m thrilled with what I have a chance to do. I don’t like the problems, but I like the chance to actually be involved there. I’m not looking for that job. The fact is there are a lot of good people, and we’ll cross all those bridges whenever they come.”

Clinton
I wonder how Ahmadinajad will react to Obama sending a woman to speak with him. In Iran this will be shown as a sign of disrespect.
Clinton would end up crying again when Ahmadinajad tells her to go F herself and her Satan country.
But then again you know we will see Hillary wearing an Islamic Burqa or Veil within the first week of her nomination.
Ehh
While I voted for Hillary, and think that she is virtually capable to handle nearly any job, she is much stronger on domestic issues that issues of state. Corzine is a good freind to her, and i am a fan of him, but Hilalry would likely be a much better AG if anything. However, she is doubtfully looking for a cabinet post
As far as insulting
I and you should care less if lunatics are insulted because the United States views women and men as equals. Furthermore you are increably misguided. Most world leaders (including MA) are pragmatists and recognize the cultural differences when dealing in international affairs. Madeline Albright and Condolezza Rice have not faced open insult from such regimes
Secretary Clinton

National laughing stock
When interviewed on MSNBC thiis am cWHOREzine stated that the auto unions would have to make "pension, salary and benefit concessions" if the government bailed them out. I choked on my bagel!!!Not one of the talking heads asked him how he handled NJ Unions in negotiating during tough economic times?
So what did cWHOREzine do while NJ is on the brink of financia collapse? He gave the union workers more pay, more benefits, fatter pensions and less work to do. Oh I forgot he led a union rally on the state house steps and hired hundreds more state workers....
cWHOREzine is a national joke!
Let him go.
He's not man enough to run against Lonegan, that's why he's desperately looking for an out.
Steve will whip whichever left-wing nut the Democrats nominate whether it is Corzine, Codey, Wisnewski or Sweeney.
AP is reporting that
high level Democratic sources say that Hillary is Obama's first choice for Secretary of State
Corzine and Lonegan
Corzine does need to go, he is bad for NJ Dems.
But Lonegan is not going past the primary when his is indicted for fraud. Using his non-profit job to raise money for his campaign and other Republicans.
Corruption is a biatch.
ashcroft, gonzalez, mukasey, goodling,sampson,rove.....
H. Clinton should be the Attorney General. Case closed.
Obama does not need to appease Hillary
I hate how there's this idea that because he defeated her in the Democratic primary, Barack Obama somehow needs to appease Hillary Clinton by giving her a position in his administration. There was the same buzz about him giving her the vice presidential spot back in August. I didn't think it would happen then, and I hope that it won't happen now. Hillary may be smart, and she may know lots of foreign leaders, but there are plenty of people who are more qualified than her to be Secretary of State, and some of those are perhaps more deserving of the role. Nem Mexico Governor Bill Richardson comes to mind.
But the bottom line is that Hillary lost and people like Jon Corzine need to get over it.
